BLACK BEAUTY

Something from the Zac Posen runway you can actually afford.

Looking like Caroline Trentini just got a bit easier, thanks to Lippmann Collection’s new nail color for fall.

Called “Fade To Black”, the ebony polish was featured on the fall 2008 Zac Posen runway. It’s sleek, shiny, and a bit sexy (in a goth girl way).

Even if you’ve sworn off dark nails, you’ll be championing the revival after you try just one coat of the polish—its onyx lacquer captures the high-gloss sheen of a vinyl record.

If that doesn’t win over your rocker heart, the name, in homage to Metallica, definitely will. Just don’t forget to paint on a primer polish first, since you don’t want your nails to be taking the name “Fade to Black” too literally.

My skin color just does not agree with dark, dark nail polish. I'll stick to my deep pinks and bright reds by Chanel!

The trouble I find with black nail polish is that it tends to look a bit goth wannabe ish when the average person wears it. But when it's worn with high end fashion I love it. Like on Emily Blunt in The Devil Wears Prada

theres a fine line between trashy and classy with anything... i think it can be really pretty.

i'll probably always wear black nail polish just my thing...i tend to go for the darker shades rather than the light. it goes better with my skin tone haha. blacks my main color.

Black polish is a staple thats here to stay, not just for goth but also good girls looking to go bad. No pun intended Rihanna. Just as pink shades are nuetral black is a drama color that works with pale to darker skin tones and looks great on toes as well as fingers if well manicured. Its a good look.

I love wearing black nail polish.. yet, everyone around me thinks it's gothic. Since when do goths claim a color, or that a color was reserved for just them? I say maybe people will look at a different way when they see it on Caroline.

I don't think certain colours ever go out! Everyone just see's that model's have been using reds and other colours and as soon as a colour is seen on the catwalk it's suddenly in again. Follow your own fashion sense!!

it's a bit too high-school goth chic for me, but lippman's dark side of the moon is just right.

I always wear black polish. Brand really doesn't matter as long as it lasts for awhile. I've been wearing it till it chips off for about six years now. I won't wear any other colour, shade or tint. Besides, it goes with everything.

I hate how when someone wore black nail polish a year ago they were a freak and now it's trendy. But once the fashion industry does it, it's a fashion must/trend. Plus, this article is ridiculous talking about "affordable" nail polish that's FIFTEEN dollars. That's crazy and I would never pay that much on a tiny bottle of nail polish. You know what's affordable and should be advertised? Wet & Wild polish for $1 or Maybeline Express Nail Finish for $3.

after i read this, i went to the website & ordered a bottle. it's been years since i wore black polish. i thought it was too dated/cheesy/zomg hot topic for a while, but i'd been thinking about it after a year or two of just putting on clear glossy polish and nothing else. it's time for something new! thanks, nylon!
