THIS IS ART.

THIS IS ART.

Hey culture tourists - here's an exhibit in Chinatown that you can preview anywhere.

You know those T-shirts that say “My Grandma
went to (insert city here) and all I got was this lousy T-shirt?” Well, we’ve found the art show equivalent of those shirts.

The V&A Gallery is playing host to “Bring Me Back a T-Shirt,” a modern art exhibition with a very interesting goal in mind. The press release states, “Like a T-shirt from a vacation destination, the work in this show is intended to objectify a place and time as the artists attempts to convey the delicacy of experience within a larger set of personal and historical concerns.”

So, you know how that N’Sync concert tee you bought ten years ago brings back the rush of seeing JT sing live? It’s kind of like that, but far more sophisticated and enlightening.

The showcase features art and photographs from Ryan Foerster, Sam Moyer, Davis Rhodes, and Erik Lindman, who is also the curator.

To capture the feeling though, you’ll have to hurry down to the V&A in Chinatown because the show fades faster than a sunburn and will only be around from August 6th to 9th T-shirts not included.
