BE STRAIGHT WITH ME

BE STRAIGHT WITH ME

If you must iron your hair, here's a way to do it safely.

You know the drill with beauty safety:

Don't try to bleach your hair all by yourself.

Don't use liquid liner on the inside of your lid.

And if you choose to iron your hair, be careful, because it could all burn off.

Of course, there are ways to avoid that - primarily, using a really good straightening iron.

The girls in our office swear by the new Izunami One-Inch styler, with a thin body to get strands close to your head, and a tourmaline base that heats hair without frying it.

At $150, it's definitely an investment, but straightening addicts know, there's really no price you can put on keeping your hair shiny, easy... and intact!

A. I dont think thats a good idea because usually extensions make your hair worse. Instead you should try buying a good deep conditioner and wear it like for 15 mins every week, it will bring your hair back to normal.

actually some extensions are good for you hair. Make sure they're braided not glued or chemically added. That way your hair gets to rest and you dont have to go through some crazy process to get them out

i had sown in extensions before, theres just as bad as any other kind. Once i took em out my hair felt extremely dull and damaged. they do more bad than good for you. so i wouldnt suggest it.

Try the Corioliss straightener. I love it - my hair is already naturally straight and the texture is baby fine, yet not thin. Anyway, when I use it, it makes it look sleeker and shiny.

I was thinking of getting extensions in. Not like all over, but a few purple pieces in the front, left side of my hair/head. But after reading that it could damage and dull my hair, I'm not so sure? But I mean, it would only be a couple of purple pieces, nothing big or all around. Do you think that would be ok for my hair?

Get the Jessie Simpson ahir extensions (Hair U Wear I think?). I have them and I looooove it!! My hair is super thin, so I got the curly ones because it's easier hide the line where it attaches. Plus, I'm not damaging my hair by clipping in. Color match is great, too. My chi is about dead, so I will def check this out. Thanks!!

how lame is this, if we must straighten our hair. The title seems a little condesending. I love how in one of the few occasions that nylon depicts a black girl she seems very adiment on adopting nylons new boring grungy slik straight hair. In one of the few times that i see a black girl in nylon, guess what, shes trying to be as bland, straight haired as every other white girl in NYLON mag. What happened nylon? you used to be worth reading, you used to have a little more substance.

well, it is an article about hair straighteners, babe. my straightener burnt the ends of my hair off, so this is definitely something i'll look into.

This didn't really help at all. I suggest you use a heat protectant on your hair before straightening.

Yeah, this wasn't all that helpful. I sort of jumped at it when I read the title because I straighten my hair often and have pretty knarley spit ends. I've been doing it less after I got them trimmed off and it seems to be helping to let my hair air-dry and use Herbal Essences Stick Straight shampoo & conditioner.
