Chanel continues its lacquer cult with solid gold polish that's selling fast.

It seems that every time Chanel comes out with a new nail polish, it’s a big deal.

Remember the vampy black nails that took over tabloids, runways, and magazines since skinny jeans got trendy? And the silver polish that was so potent and holographic it required its own primer?

Well, get ready for the next stampede, because they’ve done it again. Their new polish, “Gold Fiction,” is practically a shoe-in as the next cult item from the luxe brand. The limited-edition varnish is said to “captivate with the look of 18-karat gold.”

That’s right folks – not 14-karat gold, not 24-karat gold, but 18-karat gold exactly. So Chanel. But for what it’s worth…we think the polish should be made of real gold to justify its $30 price.

5 stars for the awesomeness, but HELLOO! $30?! I'd rather wait for the cheap brands to release some almost equally good polish in a month or two, for about $5...

chanel's polish is really potent so sometimes you only need one coat. i'd rather have that than 3 coats of thin, sticky drug store polish that doesn't dry quickly. Gold Fiction better gold than most of the ones i've tried, but the holographic silver one is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

this seems like a good back to school polish. but not 4 everyday (of course its channel 4 christ's sake). Even if its 30 dollars i think i mite make a stop while im shoping 4 tha next trend lol

How pretty! I've already done silver polish, gold would look nice with my hair. But $30 is a bit much for nail polish.

You guys are a little behind on this... or maybe chanel is. It is really expensive for nail polish. On the other hand (no pun intended), it IS real gold, and you can't get much more decadent than that for that price. OPI has a gold nail polish, it's called curry something. I got it a month or so ago and i love it. but im not going to lie, i wish i could get the chanel one!

D: Love the look SOOOO much, but the price is a bit much for nail polish... I could get something that's even cuter for the same price, but then again... it IS pretty nice... Although, I think I'll go for the silver. Sorry guys! <3

It looks beautiful but $30 is whoa for nail polish, I bet OPI will come out with a similar color. The thing is other brands can compete but in the end Chanel always wins (even though the price is a little big)

gold isn't new, when ever chanel comes out with something it's considered "new". black wasn't new either it was just reserved for emos and goths until chanel made it "chic" i'm not saying they don't look good or anything but why spend $30 dollars to find the new it color when you can go to CVS and any color you want, tops $10.

I agree with all of you! Sort of stupid to spend $30 on nail polish thats made of REAL gold. I cant get my mind around what there coming up with these days. You can ALWAYS find the same product but at a lower price somewhere so why even make this? So besides that, i will try this BUT at a lower price :)

i bought this today, and no it was not $30 it was actually $20. i'd choose chanel nailpolish over some other brand any day
