Graffiti artists take over Lord & Taylor. Yes, we're confused too.
If you've ever imagined vandalizing a gleaming department store, you're in luck:
Tomorrow you can head to Lord & Taylor in New York City and watch five graffiti artists paint the place.
Can't handle the shopping tourists inside?
That's okay too - the taggers will be stationed in the windows so you can walk on by and wave.
The stunt is part of Art in Action, a program that brings the visual arts to unexpected locations and people, and features five artists from TATS CRU, the Bronx-based graffiti collective most famous (maybe) for a giant mural of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen that inexplicably showed up on Avenue A last year (it turned out to be a PR hype for E! television).
Check them out and remember - this kind of graffiti is way less expensive than the Stephen Sprouse-inspired dresses by Dolce & Gabbana, which you can probably find inside the store.
