If you’re like us, you’re probably pretty picky about the clothes in your closet, the shoes on your feet, and the music on your iPods.
And now, thanks to a number of innovative designs, you can even be stylishly selective about how you play your music out loud.
The first set of speakers that caught our eye
is from Sherwood Forlee. It’s a speaker shaped like a speech bubble, aptly named the “Speak-er.” The unusual shape reminds us of our favorite comic book, and oddly, a little bit of Miu Miu, too.
Another cool set is
the “Giant Earbud” speakers from Fred Flare that may make you think your iPod got the Alice in Wonderland shrink treatment. They’re just like the headphones that come with your MP3 player…only they’re huge.
And, finally, because the whole world seems intent on being environmentally friendly these days, there are some fresh options made from cardboard:
The first is
a plain brown set from MUJI Housewares, whose name we love because it comes from a Japanese phrase meaning “No brand goods.” And another, our current favorite, is the
Mini Boombox from Suck UK.Both of these sets of speakers are lightweight and collapsible and for under $45 each, it definitely pays to go green.
