Designer Norma Kamali's New York boutique now boasts a wellness cafe.
Despite designing luxurious sleeping bag-style jackets and jersey separates that prove looking chic and feeling comfortable aren’t toss ups, Norma Kamali knows that beauty comes from within. So inside her uptown New York boutique, ironically enough behind the maze of mannequins in bathing suits, she’s set up Bar XV (the XV stands for extra virgin), which serves up the olive oil-infused products that comprise the new Norma Kamali Wellness Collection. Everything from soaps to pastries contain what Kamali considers the basic ingredient of good health. But Bar XV is a bar, after all… The Olive Leaf and Lavender Tea is an anti-bacterial and anti-viral brew, but if the thought of hot tea in the summer makes you sweat, try the rose and lavender-flavored Lovely Bubbly instead.
