If the recent heat wave outside NYLON’s New York office is any indication for the rest of the summer, it's shaping up to be a hot one. Like the kind of hot where you can't stand any form of contact...which is why we got so excited when we heard about this sun-block powder from Peter Thomas Roth.
This ingenious invention from the clinical skin care company pairs an SPF 30 transparent mineral powder with a built-in brush applicator for hands-free (and grease-free) sun protection.
Hairstylist extraordinaire Oscar Blandi even had the fantastic idea to dust the protective powder onto hair when you're at the beach to shield the scalp from UV rays. And if you've ever had your scalp burned by the sun, you'd know how amazing it is to finally have a way to avoid it.
The tube of talc-free powder is also small enough to toss in your bag so you don't have to haul those sun-block bottles around with you all day. Besides, summer is sticky enough without the added layer of liquid sunscreen.

This sounds great, but are there UVB and UVA blocking ingredients, or is the sun protecting property the fact that there is a layer of powder "shade" between your face and the sun?
