KNITTING FACTORY

KNITTING FACTORY

Granny's hobby becomes graffiti art.

Knitting is no longer just for grannies. Knitta, a Texan “gang of art knitters,” have traveled the world, sewing bright yarn sleeves on everything from street signs and public statues to beer bottles that didn’t make it into the recycling bin the night before. With graffiti monikers like AKrylik and PolyCotN, these renegades knitters just wrapped up a tagging spree at Colette in Paris, and word on the street is tonight, they will hit Madewell’s SoHo boutique. Don’t tell and Saturday, from four to seven, they’ll custom knit belt loops onto a pair of Madewell jeans for you!
