Get wrapped up in Cooperative Designs' psychedelic patterns and chunky knits.
“Knitwear offers us the whole design experience,” says Annalisa Dunn of cooperativedesigns, the line she started with fellow Central St. Martins graduate Dorothee Hagemann as soon as they tossed their caps into the air. “We both enjoy mixing together scales, proportions, and patterns in a playful way.” With nods to Bauhaus master Moholy-Nagy, psychedelic rock posters, and menswear, cooperativedesigns debuted with a collection of monochromatic poncho dresses with cavernous sleeves and constructivist scarf-hoodie hybrids in stripey test pattern prints. The angular shapes and soft jerseys beg to drape and distort, but if you aren’t bold enough to become a Bridget Riley optical illusion just yet, the duo’s Shadow Collection offers each piece in black.
