Finally, what every dapper jetsetter has been waiting for: a Paul Smith store conveniently located in an airport. With the aim to, according to Smith, “create a destination,” Paul Smith Globe opens its antique French Chateau doors this month at Terminal 5 in Heathrow Airport, not only stocks the British designer’s tailored and tongue-in-cheek collections, but also the eclectic items that inspired them such as first-edition art books, contemporary prints, antique cameras, travel journals, and Smith’s personal photography. Even the vintage furniture that kits out the space is swathed in his signature, bright and stripey fabrics.
