Jeremy Scott shows us the money!
Jeremy Scott’s avant-garde garb has won him fans from Björk to Lindsay Lohan to, well, the entire NYLON staff. At his show at Paris Fashion Week, models donned dresses with dollar bills and keyhole cutouts, knit tops embroidered with clocks and blinged out cupids, and emblazoned with “I am a luxury,” which pretty much sums up the show. Money can’t buy love, but we’re downright obsessed.

What was the first thing you ever designed?
The first things I made were out of Japanese newspaper—a jacket and a hat. I loved the print as it was very colorful and graphic.
Why does Paris (the city) love you so much?
Well I think it’s because they see me as being their own—I started my career there at 21 with my first show. It’s because of my love of French fashion and their passion for creativity that I wanted to show in Paris.
What is the weirdest compliment you have ever gotten?
Oh please, the weirdos love me. I’ve heard it all!
What would a Jeremy Scott fragrance smell like?
Sexy, sweaty gym locker rooms, clean towels out of the dryer, and birthday cake!
What music is playing in your studio when you design?
M.I.A., Glass Candy, the Sparks, Spank Rock, Britney Spears, Yelle, D.J. Assault.
Have you ever been star struck?
Yes once—it was with Dolly Parton and I’m still not over it!
