lovely lovely lovely! I love Alexander McQueen

Erin

01/20/2009

hm, the vest and shoulder dress.. and probably the sweater - everything else just looks kind of cheesy.

hanna

01/20/2009

they are kind of plain i like a. mcqueens runway stuff though

anna

01/20/2009

wow, frickin cute attack!! i'm stoked.

ben

01/20/2009

we've seen this all a million times before. A.M. just wants to make the paper, but who can blame him?

I love the black sweater jacket (worn in the 9, 10, and 16 photos).

Taryn

01/20/2009

I think pretty much everything about this line looks tacky and cheap. The colour pallet, the patterns, the shoes... I don't like the shape of the dresses either and the rest is completely unoriginal

molly

01/20/2009

SO TACKY! who wears booty shorts anymore?-in a cheap gray colour. the colours are terribly awful and the t-shirts are a headache.

vicky shazam

01/20/2009

i kind of like it. but the models make it look drab.

LORRAINE

01/20/2009

HATERS!!! I <3 the collection!!! WHEN DOES IT DROP!?

genderfucked

01/20/2009

I AM SO HAPPY! best to designer to create a line for target, to this date! oh how i love me some alexander mcqueen. god i am so excited.

Lisa

01/20/2009

I LOVE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN! But I'm a bit disappointed about this collection...where's the pirate goth inspiration?

KIttie

01/20/2009

UGHH just because it has a big designer name doesn't necessarily make it good. looks plain and cheap.. target is budget, but doesn't mean it should lack style.. maybe i'm being too harsh..ehhh

Vanessa

01/20/2009

PASS...the only thing i liked about this collection were the eyebrows on the models.

gemmie

01/20/2009

no thanks....

Elizabeth

01/20/2009

i like most of the designs, i would wear the black vest with the pink shirt under thats so my style and i love the bikini, congrats alexander mcq

lauren m

01/20/2009

boring. not my thing.

Simone

01/20/2009

I am LOVING this. You have no idea how much I adore Alexander McQueen. The pants and blazer in one of the last pictures are so elegant. Some of these designs are nice in the way that less is more and you can add to them easily and look classy, but I do have to admit some of them are alittle boring. Mostly I love it though. xoxo

meghan

01/20/2009

come on everyone, look past the cheesy tshirts and that awful blue tunic...there are some nice basics here! i really love the black jumpsuit, the grey cardigan with the huge collar, and the last tshirt with the pocket and studs. i'm usually not a huge fan of the target collabs but i'll check this one out.

victoria

01/20/2009

tbqh i thought this was going to be better, i was so excited for this, but its okay,i like some pieces

lucy

01/20/2009

meh - boring pfff to the basics argument the real reason I was excited about this collaboration was because it was Alexander McQueen!! I thought that yes here is a chance for me to afford something Alexander-ish at an affordable price but this to me has no hint of anything of his aesthetic or style. It's basics and bad basics at that. If you're going to do basics give us something we haven't seen before

Karli

01/20/2009

A couple of these things I might consider buying... but honestly, the excitement I felt on hearing about this has not been justified.

india

01/20/2009

i don't know why some people are so pessimistic about mcqueen. this line has a lot of pieces that are perfect! i can't wait!

zooey

01/21/2009

seriously? bored outta my mind. this would take 5 seconds to design. typical for target though. im bored. bring me some flashy detail.

meghan

01/21/2009

omg i love it!

U.

01/21/2009

I don't know.. I was excited when I first heard about Alexander Mc Queen designing for target but this is just..... kind of boring by his standards. I expected more. I'm not too inspired, but I do like some pieces individually.

julianne

01/21/2009

i am in love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when i visit the states i can only hope this collection is out!!!!

amber

01/21/2009

I cant wait for it to come out! I like a lot of it, and after I get it, i can say I own alexander mcqueen clothing!!!!

Gina McNeil

01/21/2009

See three dresses I absolutely love! Cannot wait for this collection to be out. Anyone have a date yet for when it will be available?

Susy

01/21/2009

no effort in this at all. maybe he thinks because its target he doesnt have to bother. im disappointed so un-mcqueen and boring. blehh

Leena

01/21/2009

did he design this on a 5 minute coffee break or something?

Piper

01/21/2009

The obviously fifties inspired pieces look fun, but when are we going to be done with the unflattering sack dresses and other eighties monstrosities?!? Seriously it was old when it started. Where is the originality in fashion?

dearilou

01/21/2009

Horribly boring.

Nancy

01/21/2009

Ugggh, you crushed all my hopes, Mcqueen.

jamie clare

01/21/2009

MCQUEEN FOR TARGET? BASJDASKLJL. although, i do have to say, some of the pieces are a little lackluster. that gray jacket and little black leather-ish vest are to die for, though. definitely will be purchasing them both.

Holly

01/21/2009

Funky and Great

Paulette

01/21/2009

NOT TRUE! I went to Target.com and even called them. They said they never heard of MCQ ALEXANDER MCQEEN ! So WTF ??

ginny

01/21/2009

um, i would buy those tan booties. otherwise, nah.

Kelsey Taylor

01/21/2009

I love it. They're fun, and I think for the price point that he had to satisfy it was PERFECT. everything is wearable. and an affordable cute pair of cropped trousers and jumper? awesome!

CASEY

01/21/2009

Obviously those who say this is tacky no nothing about Alexander McQueen. He is known for his over the top, avant garde looks. Maybe people should be studying fashion a little bit more before they decide to become major critics :)

KELLY

01/21/2009

PAULETTE - do you care about fashion? do you read any fashion news? this has been buzzing around for a while and it's being covered by plenty of other sources. there is an entire lookbook for crissake so YES, it IS true. the line doesn't launch until MARCH 1ST and won't be in EVERY target store. you can also purchase the pieces online STARTING MARCH 1ST.

kelly

01/21/2009

honestly the collection is that bad and the color palette is similar to marc by marc fall 08 so i have no idea what molly is on and love the black leather vest, very alexander wang while the grey jacket paired with the dress has a similar sihoulette to rick owens. People giving this low ratings just cant pull it off, how tragic!

effie

01/22/2009

this collection is okay. nothing to rave over i'm not sure if it's the models or just the clothes in general that throw me off but either way i'm not exactly for it.like honestly what the hell is the third piece?! i like the shirt in the eigth piece although it reminds me of a hellzbellz shirt. but half of this stuff looks like i could make it at home.

Gabrielle

01/22/2009

not really feelin it

HUNNER

01/22/2009

thank goodness for target. always giving the highstreet a touch of REAL design.

martini

01/22/2009

A few all right pieces but no great shakes. Also, people: look at the actual McQ line, it's really quite similar--nothing crazy McQueeny about it. This is NOT SUPPOSED to be like his runway pieces at all, because it is quite simply not based on those collections.

Danira Von K

01/22/2009

now this i can digg<33 =]

Mel

01/22/2009

I am going to have to get to target early.

Y

01/23/2009

i think people should realize that, yes of lackluster for AMQ, but it IS for Target. It wasn't exactly going to be as elaborate as the AMQ we're used to. I think some of the pieces have a lot of potential, mainly the vest, skirt, and sleeveless blouse. but the other stuff does read very american apparel to me. either way it seems like the sort of stuff Target bring out, simply because people dont go to target to get high-fashion. expecting something on that level is kind of silly in my opinon, however i did expect just a little more than what is there.

Jenn

01/23/2009

It's actually horrible, I looked around to see if maybe there was anything nice but there really is nothing. The outfit with the pink "scarf" is absolutely awful, it looks like it's choking the girl. Maybe it's the models but they don't really look nice on them and it just looks really cheap. Everything is really common and ugly :(

Sadie

01/23/2009

I JUST FLIPPED A SHIT!!!! i love target. i love mcq. i love this line. GAH **runs around house in pure enjoyment of life**

sophie

01/24/2009

I LOVE IT!!! i dont even live by a target but ill be sure to buy sumthin!!!!

tamara

01/25/2009

it`s just great... i love it, this grunge indie is perfect this is de spring/summer 2009 collection?

Eileen

01/25/2009

A lovely collection of varied designs! It is nice that Target offers cutting edge designers at such ridiculously low price points. The dresses, leather vest and the wide lapel jacket are tres chic. Can't wait until March 1st.

maria cecilia

01/25/2009

Linda a coleção, as jaquetas e calças estão divinas sem falar na cintura marcada dos vestidos... um charmeeee!!!!

Colleen

01/25/2009

I love the nude colored ankle boots and the hot pink leggings with the geometric pattern on them :) everything else is sort of basic..

cynthesizer

01/25/2009

Two of the dresses I might think about getting, if they look good on. The blazer is nice, but I'm a blazer type of person. short shorts...nasty. I wonder if those boots will actually be sold, they're pretty cute.

adele

01/25/2009

it's basic, yes, but the cuts are really nice. i think i might go get some of those coats and blazers. they are especially nice.

kk

01/26/2009

I'm pretty positive the shoes will NOT be part of this collaboration. Sad. I also had visions of him coming out with this line and each one being a masterpiece. But I'm giving it a chance. And for the pirate ninja vibe, he at least did the tattoo inspired fabric on the blue tshirt and dress! At least a couple of these will end up in my wardrobe regardless.

marina

01/27/2009

pretty cute stuff! i'm probably going to buy a shirt and dress. i mean, why not?

JessicaMarie.

01/27/2009

McQueen is pushing Target fashion forward! I can't wait to see these pieces in the store.

HannahJeanne

01/28/2009

To be honest, none of these pieces are attention grabbing. The cuts are awful, no one besides a teeny-tiny runway model would even come close to looking food in any of them. Steve, I'm terribly disappointed in you. I mean, c'mon, you gotta have something good to put out there at target so that people who can't afford your runway designs will actually connote your name with high quality, high fashion merch.

Natalie

01/28/2009

Not feeling it at all. It looks too cheap. Normally I am not extremely picky when it comes to budget clothing but this is ridiculous. I liked barely anything. I heard the hype about McQueen, but it seems like it was done last-minute. Barely no thought was put in. Target took the "basics" to a new level this season. I'm not sure if it was trying too hard or not trying at all that failed them.

Adi

01/28/2009

When I heard that alexander mcqueen was apart of the GO international designers, i literally put my hands up in the hair in pure euphoria. but after seeing some of the pieces, i'm really bummed. they're just so plain. i understand staples but they aren't different enough for me to pay more for target quality pieces with a high-end label

Mia

01/28/2009

This isn't officially by McQueen himself, if you read WWD it specifically says it is the lower end line McQ. Which isn't designed by him but a separate house of designers which he will over look. It is also regarded in the Main studio as a joke. So you won't see any high end RTW pieces in the go international line by target. But it is a typical McQ line, which was inspired by the British band Duke Spirit, that is who is screen printed on the t-shirts etc.

Katia

01/28/2009

I agree with everyone saying that this IS Target, not the official McQueen RTW lines. Do you think Alexander McQueen has the time to create amazing pieces for Target stores? No. These are nice things for the price, and for where you'd be purchasing them. Either way, fashion is about making something work- whether it be a second hand dress, or a designer original. Mix & match people, MIX & MATCH.

Alexisbobexis

01/29/2009

I love it, LOVE IT. I love Alexander McQ. So I would have rated it five stars, ahem, hearts anyway. This line is as cool as the uncle I never had! *goes to bed mom to take her to Target*

fab

01/30/2009

I´m all up for the mixing and the matching... but there´s nothing here i could work with... maybe the leather vest but that´s pretty much it!

Jessica

01/30/2009

My favorite designer for Target. OMFG. he is the most amazing artist ever. He is fantastic. I love them all!! Knowing that he crafted these himself.. is wonderful!

Andrea

02/01/2009

A W E S O M E!

cate

02/04/2009

These are SO TAME! I was hoping to see something a little more Alexander McQueen. . .

Fina

02/06/2009

anyone amazed by mcqueen needs a serious history lesson in fashion. great line for target, though. too bad all the go stuff is cheapo quality and not even worth the lowball pricetag.

CCee

02/06/2009

Obviously it's not going to be as nice as his own collection, but for the price, it's well worth it. I'm excited :]

Ainslie

02/14/2009

When is this collection hitting stores?

Sam

02/14/2009

Not lovin' all of it, but I really like that blazer. I wonder how much those jeans will cost... hmm.

Clingy

02/15/2009

so it this thing really only dropping for a limited time 3/1-4/11 ?

OHMY

02/15/2009

I got so excited when I heard it was Alexander who was designing but I do have to keep in mind that it is for Target. Im not that interested in buying all of these pieces but i saw a few cute things.

yawn. too boring for me. tolerable pieces for those who enjoy simplicity. am can do much better than this.

Nichelle

02/19/2009

You all should have actually gone to the McQ exhibit with the artistic works deconstructing McQueen's McQ for Target line. You could try on and purchase the clothes, and they were very good quality, great style and a wonderful price point along with a DJ and some great bands. Job well done - DESIGN FOR ALL - not just for the fashion think they know it alls

Alex

02/20/2009

are you kidding me THESE CLOTHES ARE GREAT. you people that say that you wants different basics don't know what a basic is! Resort '09s hottest colors. Love the short, trench, pant, bootie, blazer, and all the t-s. my only critique is i wish it were a little cheaper. i read about it in teen vogue and apperently one of the dresses is 75 dollars. HOT LINE!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE WHAT NICHELLE SAID! THIS LINE IS TOO GOOD FOR FASHION KNOW IT ALLS!

Paris

02/20/2009

one word AMAZING

Samantha

02/20/2009

do you know if these are the only clothes that are going to be running for the mcqueen taget line?

amelia

02/21/2009

the line is definitely not a far cry from his resort 09, but I'm failing to see the leila moss influence - maybe only in the color scheme, and obviously her face. the 'duke spirit inspiration' seems gimmicky to me.

Jeremy Taylor

02/25/2009

Ahhhhh, what I wouldn't give to be 18 again and have this amazing collection come out! Fierce!!!!!

Lauren

02/26/2009

was super excited for this, and now i am not. i hope there are more clothes available or atleast that these clothes look better in person. major let-down.

Alexander McQueen

03/02/2009

The reason why, the design is too basic is because this needs to appeal to the masses. It is launching for TARGET, so think of the majority of people who shops at TARGET. I'm sorry it doesn't fit to your liking, but know that this will only help those with NO fashion sense. So stop the Tom Foolery and have some insight. You tunnel visioned whores!! lol

nos

03/02/2009

haters need to lay off, not all of us can afford designer things! i'm stoked for this!

nelliemarie

03/02/2009

i like the clothes don't like the models. the model with the short hair looked to masculine, you need someone with a more feminine look, it would give the clothes more sex appeal. i think there is nothing sexier than women wearing mens clothes.

ABBY

03/03/2009

hannahjeanne, whatre you on? who the hell is steve anyway? and i like this i may just purchase the whole lot

eva

03/04/2009

I love McQueen because he is dramatic and fearless and always puts on an amazing show. But this collection is too mainstream for my liking. Anyone stylish enough to appreciate his work needs to be willing to pay more for it. Unfortunately there aren't enough people out there willing to wear something so unusual. I think he really had to tone down these looks to suit the needs of the masses who probably have never heard of him to begin with.

Dog Solutions

06/15/2009

I have a neighbour who would buy cheap clothes for herself but a canine coat made by designers like McQueen etc, she just bought a designer dog food bowl, and then promptly went off to work, looking like she had just got out of bed. It a dogs world I guess.
