Is that Fun Dip?! For real!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nic

08/14/2008

I like that it wasn't shot in a studio. Natural light really shows you the clothing.

Go Ask Alice is a book. ALice in Wonderland is the movie. I didn't like this..

ARIAL

08/14/2008

I thought this was clever, and i think the model IS cute. just because someone doesn't look like kira knightley in a super photoshopped picture doesn't mean they're not photogenic. and nic is right, natural light is better.

its "a very happy unbirthday" not a very merry unbirthday, trust moi, I saw the movie a billion times. still <3 you Nylon! quite cute

Lauren

Go Nylon for doing YOUR OWN take on things. Silly people think that it has to be exact. This is a NYLON take. I love all the dresses and the docs. ADORABLE! This is more real than any regular fashion shoot.

life is criticism, what could you do? <3

so friggin' cute! someone wrotee that alice in wonderland is a movie, but it was originally a BOOK many decades before.

nyky

love the pink dress!! & this whole theme. i love it.

Amelia

08/15/2008

Yes, Emily, it was a book, but Go Ask Alice is a completely different book about a girl who does drugs and dies! I think the shoot was a little boring, to be honest.

very cool concept. maybe you could try a UK-US story using all the parallels that ny (for example) shares with england like brighton beach, double decker buses, rock shows, cobbled streets, etc... the fashion could reflect that kind of brit eclectic style. what do you think?

tiffany

08/15/2008

i think it's cute. and i don't think they were unaware of the differences between go ask alice and alice in wonderland, i think it was a clever title.

Cool clothes, great photos, but dump the product placement and you'll get that last heart from me.

Sonya

I think the clothes and model are adorable. The concept of the shoot is nice, but the execution wasn't so great. Like the picnic picture, an area with more grass, that was greener would have made the dress pop more. Some of the frames looks like something you would see on a facebook album on a day downtown, but some are quite nice.

play nice girls! loved the clothes. thought the idea was really cute. nobody needs perfection ALL the time. its just not normal.

I love this concept! It is a very creative way to showcase new talent. As an emerging fashion photographer I would love the opportunity to photograph one of your future online only fashion shoots! I have some great ideas for story lines... how about "Bon Voyage":) http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=106526346&albumId=2236691

Cute idea. I am an avid Alice FREAK, so I can really appreciate this. Oh, and it is "a very MERRY unbirthday", not HAPPY, as someone else claimed it to be. :)

I think it's super cute and refreshing to see normal girls model practical and affordable clothing. How about something office attire related? I need to jazz up my work wardrobe.

everyone, shh & tell me where could i get the purple jacket? what's the point of all this nonsense? it's not getting anyone anywhere. just be quite & look at the pretty clothes, THAT is what the pictures are for! goodness!

Cute pictures But the lighting is dreadful And to be honest, it's not at all artistic Although I do love Nylon

emma

08/15/2008

cute clothes and some of the poses are cute and the model plays a role well but the overall feel of the shoot technically doesnt give me that special feeling i like to feel from seeing great clothes. It is just loosing a certain style and wow factor

Jess

08/15/2008

Super cute clothes, and I love the Alice theme ^_^ I really want that pink dress!!

STACI

08/15/2008

which pink one, Jess? The one with the spades? I like the other pink one a lot, but I'm not too thrilled about the collar, I dont like anything with collars, but it's darn cute!

The five stars could be for the fun dip alone (I love that stuff) but I loved this shoot, and I love that BB Dakota isn't ridiculously overpriced.

Alice is somewhat of a druggie name. Mary Jane too. How unfortunate for the Alices & Mary Janes who don't do drugs.

Emily

08/20/2008

I love it... But where does one find ALL that BB Dakota clothing. It's super cute, but now I don't know where to find it. Please help!!!

Cute? Are you kidding me? It looks incredibly stupid and the clothes... just no. Epic fail. Sorry, kiddos. 1 heart for effort...and because nylonmag.com won't let me put 0.

Marykate

08/24/2008

I feel like the model just wanted to "wing" the shoot rather than actually putting forth an effort. But i do love the fact that it takes place outside. Its rather different. & I also admired the clothing, very cute.

I had "Go Ask Alice" in my head randomly earlier... it's meant to be :) Loveee <3

hehehe i like this urban alice shoot. who cares what was a book and what wasnt, the point is, the name worked for the shoot. i think its funny how some people think they know more about the photo shoot than the photographer himself. but it is nice to hear other opinions i suppose. two thumbs way up. super cute clothes. mm fun dip is terrific!

True.I agree with everyone here

It was alright, it wasn't bad at least. Probably my favourite ones were the school bus one and the 'One pill makes you.." one. They were nice.
